چکیده

nomic nervous system activity before surgery. Also, Jideus and colleagues concluded that ‘the diminished circadian variation in autonomic nervous system before surgery and the indirect signs of a higher parasympathetic activity in patients developing postoperative AF compared with patients remaining in sinus rhythm, may indicate a propensity for AF.’ Thus, impairment in autonomic nervous system function, is thought to play a role in the development of postoperative AF. Previous studies clearly showed a close relation between left ventricular diastolic dysfunction and impaired cardiac autonomic function. Habek and colleagues showed that progression of diastolic dysfunction is associated with a significantly greater prevalence of reduced cardiac autonomic nervous system activity. Bonapace and colleagues found that early diastolic dysfunction, as measured by tissue Doppler imaging, is independently associated with impaired cardiac autonomic nervous system activity with normal systolic function. As a consequence, we believe that the relation between impairment on cardiac autonomic nervous system function may have a significant role in the relation between DD and postoperative AF.

Hemodynamic Changes and Related Factors in Bone Cement Implantation in Patients Undergoing Orthopedic Surgery

Background and purpose: Bone cement implantation syndrome is an important factor in changing the hemodynamic status of patients during orthopedic surgery. Anesthesiology team and surgeons should be aware of these hemodynamic changes and prevent complications, so, the aim of this study was to investigate the hemodynamic changes in patients during the use of bone cement. Reducing the risk of bone cement implantation syndrome during femoral arthroplasty.

Patients with pathologic hip fractures or impending pathologic proximal femur fractures are at a high risk for developing bone cement implantation syndrome during cemented femoral arthroplasty. Comorbid conditions of patients who sustain these fractures, including cardiopulmonary compromise and permeable, highly vascular bone related to metastatic disease, put them at risk for sudden death. Red...

AN INNOVATIVE SURGIC AL TECHNIQUE FOR CONTINUOUS SUTURING OF PROSTHESIS IN MITR AL VALVE REPL A CEMENT

Mitral valve replacement (MVR) is usually performed in two methods of running and interrupted suturing. In running method, the suturing of the valve is usually with some traction on the annulus and also there is a risk of aortic valve injury. This study was conducted to evaluate a new technique for suturing to avoid these complications and decrease the time of cardiac arrest. One hundred an...

The Most Appropriate Reconstruction Method Following Giant Cell Tumor Curettage: A Biomechanical Approach

Giant cell tumor (GCT) is a primary and benign tumor of bone, albeit locally aggressive in some cases, such as in the epi-metaphyseal region of long bones, predominantly the distal end of femur and proximal end of tibia (1). There are a variety of treatments for a bone affected by GCT, ranging from chemotherapy, radiotherapy, embolization, and cryosurgery, to surgery with the use of chemical or...
